Gappa valley also spelled Gapa valley is an unexplored valley in District Nagar. Chalt bala is the first village of Nagar in Chalt valley, Chalt valley is one of the hidden explore valleys in Nagar which connect Bar valley, Chaprot valley, Gappa valley and Baltar valley.
Gappa valley is only accessible en-route from Chalt valley to Chaprot valley along Chalt river via KKH karakoram highway Gilgit to Hunza road. The beautiful Gappa valley is heaven for tourists but still hidden from tourist eyes. The valley is full of natural beauty, meadows, alpine forests, Glaciers, fresh spring and glacier water with green meadows.

Neelay Barey ( Green Fields) known as mini Deosai, located above Gappa Meadows is one of the most beautiful places.from Chaprote also spelled Chaprot one trek goes to Kacheli Glacier and Boie glacier from where you can view Barkotchish peak and Chari khand peak 5889 m in the distance.
2nd trek towards Gapa valley, a summer settlement for shepherds, located at a distance of about three to four hours from Chaprote/Chaprot valley only accessible by jeep track.On the way to Gappa valley and Gapa meadows along Chaprot nala you can see some dominant peaks of Chaprot valley. When you reach Gappa meadows, you feel you are in heaven full of nature. Gappa meadows is a viewpoint of some dominant peaks such as Mehrbani peak 5639 m, Snow dome 5029 m and Rakaposhi 7,788 m. When you head up towards the Gappa meadows in the distance Mehrbani peak 5639 m on left, Snow dome 5029 m on right and right middle Chaprot pass 4988m. On the back, you can see from Gapa meadows first view of Rakaposhi (7,788 m), the dominant giant in Nagar and Hunza. You can see a few more peaks of the Karakoram mountain range: Diran peak 7,266 m, Haraj peak, Sumayar peak, Zangia Harar peak in the distance.There are some little huts of local people where they serve you foods with traditional foods of Chaprot and Gappa valley.
moreover from Gapa meadows you can further explore hike up chaprot glacier scenic view of snow capped mountain peak close view of Mehrbani peak 5639 m, Snow dome 5029 m, Druval/druwal/Darowal Glacier glacier and hike to small forest of valley with lush green view to reach Charpot/Chaprot pass 4988m which connect Naltar valley to Chaprot valley from Gappa valley side and further connect Shine/Sheniye/Shani Glacier which is longest glacier in Naltar valley.Gappa valley is a hidden valley in Gilgit Baltistan that has only jeep track, you can hire a jeep for Gappa/Gapa valley from Chalt valley or Chaprot valley but prefer jeep to further explore Gapa meadows which is only hike to reach meadows.

Gappa valley has one route through Chalt valley to Rabbat to Chaprot to enter Gappay valley, mostly villagers use this track. There is no hotel and guest house for tourists, a small little huts shop available for necessary foods but the people of the valley are very hospitable and welcome any guest offer to stay there.
Chaprot valley is rich in mulberry, peach, apple and walnut orchards.Skiing is one of the most popular winter sports in Gilgit Baltistan. Gappa valley has great potential of Skiing. and there are many ski places. a must visit untouched Paradise trek to Gappa valley and Gapa meadows At a distance of 50 km from Gilgit City and 7 km to 10 km from Karakoram Highway (N35) on Gilgit to Hunza road. People in the region are very much welcoming and hospitable.
