The name Khanjarab/Khunjerab is no stranger to anyone here. Many people want to visit here at least once in their life. Khanjarab/Khunjerab Zero Point or Khunjerab Pass which is Pakistan-China border is 780 km away from Islamabad.
Khunjerab National Park starts from Sost on Karakoram Highway where a check post is set up. Every vehicle and individual arriving at this check post is registered. Vehicle details and individual ID cards are registered. Each person must have an ID card or passport. The entry fee is Rs. 100 per person for which a receipt is issued. Apart from this, the number of the vehicle and the number of persons are recorded on a simple slip. This simple slip has to be submitted on return. The distance from the check post to Khanjarab/Khunjerab Zero Point is 50 km which is covered in about an hour and a half.
The third largest and highest park stretch from Sost town and end Khunjerab zero point top, moreover it can be seen through KKH on Khunjerab pass road N35 and it covers most of the North part of Pakistan border with China .
Khunjerab Zero Point is a famous tourist destination most visiting point in Pakistan and China. Most of the year Khunjerab National Park is covered with snow. The best season to visit is from June to November. The daytime temperature in Khunjerab National Park is also negative at the moment in October. strong icy winds blow all the time. Now dominant wildlife species are Ibex, Marmot, Snow Leopard, Brown Bear, Marco Polo Sheep and others in Khunjerab national park. Khunjerab National Park is the only National park in Pakistan that connects further with China Taxkorgan Nature Reserve and Wakhan National Park in Afghanistan . Khunjerab Park, most of the landscape is dominated by Mountain Karakoram ,Glacier, flat, open wide, river, stream, alpine vegetation and trees are only present in some valleys below 3,400 m.
